Hello people! You may have noticed that @apconf is now online, and *some* of the videos have started to appear!

So far:
- @mlemweb's introduction to the conference https://conf.tube/videos/watch/ff347f97-eac2-41fa-90fa-74098fcd7029
- My keynote:
"ActivityPub: past, present, future" https://conf.tube/videos/watch/2b9a985b-ccdd-49ce-a81b-ed00d2b47c85
- Mark Miller's keynote: “Architectures of Robust Openness” https://conf.tube/videos/watch/7a772faf-9a32-4692-b5cd-4dbabfdd9797

More are coming... the server is working away at making them available :)

Writing a scraper for Twitter 🙀, as it seems to be the only way to know when my train is delayed.

The open data from the SNCF is only updated few minutes before departure.

Next step is sending tweets via SMS, using the free API provided by my mobile phone operator 😺 .

there were some things i ddn't knew about raspberry pis:

"Linux runs on that ARM CPU, we know that, but we might be surprised to learn that Linux on this device is only a second class citizen. The GPU cores run a real time operating system called ThreadX. This operating system is closed source and rules the system without the open source Linux Kernel being aware of it."

and guess who bought the ThreadX operating system last april?

I've finished writing part 1 of "OcapPub: Towards networks of consent", which is to say the "Conceptual Overview" section https://gitlab.com/spritely/ocappub/blob/master/README.org

There's a lot there already, and we haven't even gotten to Part 2, the "How to Build It" section yet. I'll begin work on that tomorrow.

What's here already is more or less an explanation of *why* OcapPub is taking the particular direction it is taking, and why other approaches run into serious problems.

an appeal to the fediverse regarding anti-abuse

Dear fediverse:

Fascism joining the fediverse is extremely bad, and we have to do something about it. But please, please, please: give me two weeks before you roll out any new solutions. Some of the solutions being proposed look like they will make the situation better but will make it much worse.

I am dropping nearly everything to write a demo and spec explaining how to do things right. Please give me two weeks. I've been preparing for this.
